We at CCHC want to serve! Our key verse is Mathew 5:16, Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. In response to this verse we commit ourselves to 1 service project per session. These service projects are an opportunity for us to serve side by side as parents and students and share the light of Christ to our nearby community. Service projects may include activities such as: visiting a Nursing Home, volunteering for clean-up duty, or even just being a good neighbor. Stay tuned to hear where our next CCHC serve project will be!
For the Winter Session Serve and Play we visited the residents of Colonial Vista. The ukulele class played while we sang Christmas carols. It was a great time for the kids to put into practice what they had been learning at the co-op while the residents got to enjoy the fruits of their learning! Our time at Colonial Vista was sweet. We looked around and saw much love being shared. Adults and students were visiting with residents, holding hands and giving hugs, sharing songs, cards and treats. 🙂
After spending some quality time serving, it was time to play and fellowship together! We went to the ice skating rink where a total of 61 students and parents enjoyed each others’ company. We all had lot of fun AND we observed really well behaved children! Older kids were assisting little ones, kids were sharing and taking turns and there was an overall positive and kind attitude shown. We hope that these events will aid parents in showing their children the feeling of the blessing of participating in community and service!
