WHAT IS 4H

“4-H provides hands-on learning opportunities for kids from ages 5-18. You can choose from a number of projects to be involved in, ranging from Animal Science to Environmental Science to Expressive Arts. 4-H offers workshops, clinics, conferences, camps, community service projects and leadership development opportunities at the local, state and national levels. 4-H clubs are groups of young people with adult volunteers who meet regularly for their chosen projects. 4-H members form lifelong friendships, develop leadership skills, and practice real life application of concepts through project work.”

At the beginning, our meetings at Co-op will give us a chance to think and act together, to plan and do things together. Club meetings are all about learning, making plans, and having fun. Once projects are established, our Co-op hour can become smaller project groups for the purpose of education and planning projects.

Almost any project is possible in 4-H if there is enough interest and adequate adult leadership!

Here is a list of some project ideas:

Beef, cavy, citizenship, clothing and textile, computer, dog, entomology, equine, family living, food and nutrition, forestry, garden, goat, knitting/crochet, leadership, llama, outdoor adventures, performing arts, photography, poultry, rabbit, reading/financial literacy, robotics, sheep, shooting sports, small engines, sportfishing, swine, veterinary science, and woodworking.

Backed by WSU, our local 4-H program provides education approved workbooks at a low cost, downloadable resources, finance for middle school and high school, along with record books and demonstrations, community service, and a scholarship program for graduating students.

-4-H Pledge-
“I pledge my head to clear thinking, my heart to greater loyalty, my hands to larger service, and my health to better living, for my club, my community, my country and my world.”

Cost for 4-H Club is $35 per student and $10 per Parent/Leader. Please email us at info@wenatcheehomeschool.org for more information or if you have any questions!

Our 4-H Club is associated with Wenatchee Christian Homeschool Co-op (WCHC). Some of our 4-H projects are held during our co-op sessions.
